The headteacher at Hitchin Girls’ School is proud of her students on GCSE results day.

Frances Manning said: “We are proud that we do well by all students in our community, both in terms of their exam performance and their overall personal development.”

Five students achieved A* grades in 11 or 12 subjects – with the fabulous five being Olivia Abbiss, Amy Hall, Suma Mabruk, Hebe Robinson and Ria Xenophontos.

The overall pass rate was not available.
