The headteacher of Fearnhill School has championed the ‘phenomenal progress’ of his students.

Among the smiling faces were Rebecca Wray (seven A*s and five As), James Copland (five A*s and three As), Melissa Drake (three A*s and seven As), Macaulay Denman (three A*s and five As), Anthony Macit (five A*s and three As) and Yasmine Harker (four A*s and four As).

Headteacher Jed Whelan said: “The students and staff at Fearnhill have worked exceptionally hard this year and deserve to be hugely proud of their achievements.

“We are delighted that these results reflect some outstanding performances by our students.

“Though these top achievers have every right to celebrate.

“We would like to acknowledge the success stories of all the individuals who have worked incredibly hard to achieve what may appear to be relatively modest grades by comparison but which actually represent phenomenal progress.

“We would also like to acknowledge the work of the primary school teachers who laid the foundations for the achievements of our students.”

Melissa Drake said: “I am thrilled with my results. All the hardwork has paid off and I can’t wait to start Fearnhill sixth form.”

Rebecca Wray said : “I am so happy. I really want to thank everyone who has supported me.”
