MORE than 92% of students at The John Henry Newman School in Stevenage achieved five GCSE grades at A*-C.
Of those, 70% achieved five A*-C grades including English and maths – which was up by 8% on last year.
Nearly a third of all passes were at grade A* or A.
Headteacher Clive Mathew said: “It is wonderful to see the hard work and dedication of our pupils rewarded by these excellent grades. They fully deserve them.
“My thanks also go to their parents for their wonderful support during the year and of course to the staff of the school, who repeatedly give and do far more for the pupils than I could ever ask them to do. They are amazing people.”
