The headteacher of Hitchin Girls’ School is delighted her students have come through an “unsettling time” with flying colours on GCSE results day.
84 per cent of girls achieved five A* to C grades, including English and maths, and 69 per cent of all results were A* to B grades.
20 students achieved all A and A* grades, including Allesandra Stevens who received 11 A* grades, gaining full marks on several of her papers. Hannah Dixon and Bethany Smith achieved 10 A*s and Eloise Heatley gained 9 A*s.
Headteacher Frances Manning said: “I am really delighted for all our students and their achievements this year, in what has been a very unsettling time for them in our examinations system. Their success is a credit to them and their teachers who have worked so hard to ensure that they achieve the outcomes that they deserve.”
