The children’s centre, which serves Shefford and the surrounding villages, had animals including ducks, guinea pigs, hedgehogs and a tortoise on hand for visitors to enjoy.
There were also chickens, barn owls, sugar gliders and more at the centre, which is based at Shefford Lower School.

The youngsters enjoyed playing with the animals, singing with The Signing Company and spending time out in the sunshine. There was also cake for everyone.
Manager Kirsty Maxwell said: “It’s great to see the children’s centre has become such a vital part of the local community, and to see children and families develop and flourish.”
