FIVE students from The Highfield School will be going to Oxbridge as the Letchworth GC school achieved a 98.8 per cent A-level pass rate from A*-E.
Year 13 students Christina Farley (A* History, A* Maths, A* English Literature, A German), Vit Huang (A* Further Maths, A* Maths, A* Physics), Remi Beecroft (A* English Language and Literature, A German, A* History, A Psychology), David Johnson (A English Language and Literature, A Geography, A* History) and Richard Porteous (A English Literature, A* History, A* Religious Studies) all got their places at Oxbridge.
In total, 55 per cent of A2 grades were between A*-B.
Other success stories include Jack Anthony (A Biology, A* Maths, A* Sport/PE Studies) and Lucy Pedrick (A English Literature, A* History, A* Religious Studies.)
The pass rate from A-E at AS was 80.2 per cent, with Nicholas Burstow (A Biology, A Chemistry, A Maths, A Music, A Extended Project), Scott Hetherington (A Biology, A History, A Maths, B Geography, B General Studies) Tao Haskins-Coulter (A Biology, B Chemistry, B General Studies, A History, A Maths) and Chris Routledge (A Geography, A History, A English Literature, C Biology) the stand out performers.
Headteacher Ian Morris said: “The hard work of our sixth form students and staff has resulted in another set of excellent results for the school. This continues to build on our recent and rapid improvement at the school.”
