Pupils at Nobel School in Stevenage have achieved a 70 per cent pass mark at A* to C, and a 100 per cent pass rate overall.

Headteacher Alistair Craig said he was “very pleased” with the results, which showed an overall increase in their average points per entry.

“Once again this shows the hard work that has been carried out by the students and their teachers. These results reflect some excellent individual achievements, in a wide range of subjects including the highest A* and A grades.

“This year for the first time our students are progressing to a wider range of courses including apprenticeships as well as the more traditional university choices, covering subjects as diverse as midwifery and astro-physics.”

The school is currently questioning the 14 per cent figure for A* and A passes, because of some anomalies, Mr Craig said.
