Over 54% of Fearnhill School students obtained the highest grades of A*-B with an overall pass rate of 99%. The pass rate for A*-C grades was an impressive 77%. These are a total record breaking sets of results for the school.
Headteacher Jed Whelan said: “I am absolutely thrilled with our results. Our students have risen to the challenge of competing for courses at the top universities and they have secured their places. The hard work of every student is reflected in the grades they have achieved. I am particularly pleased that many students, across the ability range, have surpassed expectation and achieved higher grades than expected. All of the students and their dedicated teachers can be proud of what they have achieved together.”
Students such as Jennifer Zheng achieved A* in chemistry and maths, an A in physics and a B in Chinese, and will now be going to St John’s College, Cambridge, to read medicine. Jordan Pope was another straight A student with A* history and two A grades in English and sociology, he will be off to Nottingham to read law. Other students who did well included Ryan Cullen, Kelley Wray, Gavin Hassell, Medina Amissah-Watts, Sophie Chellar, Louise Crombie, Tayla Murray, Chloe Drewett, Dale Maddox, Kerryn Smith and Zen Gallard who all achieved a minimum of two A grades and a B.
