THE Thomas Alleyne School in Stevenage has recorded the best results in its history.
The number of students achieving five or more A*-C grades including English and maths was 50% – up by 9% on last year.
Overall, 83% of pupils obtained five grades at A*-C, another record.
Headteacher Mark Lewis said: “These results confirm that we are a rapidly and consistently improving school. We are thrilled with the improvements we have made on last year’s results and we are looking forward to even better results as we work closely with our academy sponsors, North Hertfordshire College, from September.
“We are extremely proud of our students who have worked hard to achieve their very best. They have been well-supported by dedicated and committed staff who are constantly striving for excellence for every member of our school community.”
The most notable performance was from Frederica Melbourne who gained eight A*s and two As, to add to the A grade in A-level maths she received last week.
Other standout performers were Amy McAree who achieved eight A*s and one A, Sarah Brown with five A*s and four As, and Stanford Sango who got two A*s and seven As.
