THE headteacher at Fearnhill School is “absolutely thrilled” with this year’s A-level results which continue to improve.

The school in Icknield Way, Letchworth GC, which was taken out of special measures by Ofsted in March, had a 79.4 per cent pass rate A* to C.

The overall pass rate was 99 per cent, with 45 per cent of passes at grade B and above.

“We are absolutely thrilled at the continuing trend of improving results at Fearnhill School,” said headteacher Jed Whelan.

“The school has built on its recent successes and we are delighted our students have done so well. Nearly 80 per cent of our all our passes were at grades A*-C. The results are a testament to the hard work, dedication and enthusiasm of students and staff alike.

“Our students continue to set high standards for others to follow and everyone at the school is committed to delivering excellent results. We would also like to acknowledge the work of our primary school colleagues for the efforts they put into ensuring students have the foundations for this success.”
