DOGS trained to detect drugs were used during a police operation at Stevenage train station today (Friday).
Operation Graze, involving 13 police officers, targeted people who were possibly coming into the town with the intention of committing crime.
Two drugs dogs were used during the operation - conducted by Herts Police and the British Transport Police between 9am and 3pm - and 12 people were searched, but no drugs were found.
At the same time as the operation, high visibility police patrols covered the town centre, and during this time no shoplifting or purse dipping offences were reported to have taken place.
Further operations of a similar nature are planned and could take place during the day or night.
