Driver taken to hospital after car crashes into tree in Hitchin

A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital after the car he was driving crashed into a tree in Hitchin Hill.

The incident involved a Renault Megane which happened around 12.15pm yesterday where Hitchin Hill meets the roundabout for the A602 to Stevenage.

The collision saw a number of police, ambulance and fire service vehicles attend the scene near The Three Moorhens pub.

The man was taken to the Lister Hospital in Stevenage with an ambulance spokesman confirming his condition was not believed to be life-threatening.
