THE driver of this car had a lucky escape when his car hit a lamppost on the A1 on Monday evening between the Biggleswade south roundabout and the Edworth junction.
The road was closed for almost an hour while the wreckage of the car was cleared. The driver, a man from Spalding, Lincolnshire, was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.
