A DRIVER has had a lucky escape after his car flipped over several times and landed upside down in a field this afternoon (Wednesday).
Paramedics and the air ambulance were called to the A1(M), between junctions 8 and 9 on the northbound carriageway, at 1.09pm.
Ambulance service spokesman, Gary Sanderson, attended the incident and said: "The car crashed through several metres of wooden fencing and was badly damaged. The single occupant was sitting on the floor, and amazingly he sustained minor injuries."
He was checked over before being taken by land to Lister Hospital in Stevenage.
The man is thought to be 48 and from Hatfield.
