Officers investigating a burglary in Letchworth have today released CCTV images of two people they want to speak to as part of their enquiries.
The burglary happened about 9.15pm on Thursday, March 23, when someone climbed a fence behind a house in Fouracres and broke in through patio doors.
They then left after stealing a bank debit card allowing contactless transactions, which police have found to have been used at four locations in London later that evening.
Speaking today, investigating officer Maurice Burton said: “I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed anyone in the area of Fouracres around the stated times to please get in touch. We believe the offenders could have made off in the direction of south London, so we are casting our investigations wide.
“I’d also like to speak to anyone who may recognise the people pictured in the CCTV images as they may be able to assist us with enquiries.”
The four locations where the card was used were an Esso service station in Highgate just before 10pm, a McDonald’s at King’s Cross at 10.15pm, and two places in New Cross Road in south London later that evening.
Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting crime reference G2/17/680.
