THE air ambulance landed on the playing field at Bedwell Primary School in Stevenage this afternoon (Thursday) after a pupil dislocated her elbow doing a handstand.
Each emergency flight costs in excess of �2,000.
Paramedics called the helicopter from its base in North Weald, Essex, so a doctor on board could administer painkillers to the injured girl before she was driven to Lister Hospital in an ambulance.
