TICKETS will be priced as low as 75p this weekend to conclude a cinema’s 75th birthday celebrations.
BROADWAY Cinema in Letchworth GC will hold the ‘one off’ discount weekend from 5pm today (Friday) until Sunday, with tickets either half price at 3.75 or 75p - a penny for every year the cinema has been open - for selected films.
The discounted screenings, which include Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Jane Eyre, A Lonely Place to Die and Friends with Benefits, follow a series of fully booked behind-the-scenes tours last weekend.
More than 300 guests were treated to demonstrations of a traditional 35mm projector before experiencing a 3D film clip in the 450-seat Screen One.
Josh Tidy of First Garden City Heritage Museum also gave a brief insight into the history of the cinema, funded and run by Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation, with an illustrated talk in the cinema’s 50-seat Screen Four.
