A digger has been removing earth from a ditch this morning to stop flooding which has forced Walkern High Street to close.
The road is currently shut between Stevenage Road and Benington Road while Hertfordshire County Council’s team carry out work near Walkern Sports Club.
The county’s highways Twitter account reported that properties had been flooded but that is yet to be confirmed.
