A diddy football pundit from Stevenage is in with a chance of helping televise a major football match after commentating on the highs and lows of Stevenage FC's season.
Georgie Harris, 12, who goes to St Francis’ College in Letchworth, entered the Diddy Pundit competition run by nick kicks, a TV football show for kids on the nicktoons channel.
Georgie submitted a video of herself doing a match report on Stevenage’s home game against Portsmouth on March 18 and the competition judges loved it so much they chose her as one of five finalists.
The finalists were all invited along to the TV company’s headquarters in Camden where they filmed trails for the competition and Georgie got to commentate on the best goals from Stevenage FC’s season including the Matt Godden winner against Luton Town and Fraser Franks’ volley against Doncaster.
Football crazy Georgie is now waiting to find out if she has won the competition and will be invited along to help nick kicks cover the Championship play off final at Wembley Stadium on May 29.
Georgie’s dad, Jon Harris, said: “She loves her football and has been into it longer than she can remember. She plays as a goalkeeper at Borehamwood.
“We are season ticket holders at Stevenage and she loves watching the games.
“The clip she recorded was hilarious and the TV company did really amazing things with the children at their studio in Camden.
“She’s done incredibly well and she’s got the gift of the gab!”
He added: “Georgie was gutted when Stevenage didn’t go up at the end of the season, we all were, but they’ve had an amazing season.”
