Motorists near Baldock may experience minor delays between November 23 and 25 as the road gets a £15,000 clean-up.

The district council’s maintenance contractors John O’Conner will clear away detritus and remove litter from the A505 Baldock bypass’s verges over the three days. One lane will be closed in the meantime.

Councillor Peter Burt, who holds the portfolio for waste, recycling and the environment at the district council, said:

“Littering along high-speed roads has serious effects on the environment, and council tax payers are left to foot the bill. Please be responsible and take your litter home with you.”
