FA and clubs to pay respect for 96 people who died in the 1989 disaster

Stevenage’s home match with Colchester United on April 12 will kick off seven minutes later than originally scheduled as part of a nationwide mark of remembrance for the 25th anniversary of Hillsborough.

All Premier League, Football League, Football Conference and FA Cup matches taking place on the weekend of April 11-14 will have a delayed kick-off, with the minute before the start time being used as a period of silence as a mark of respect.

The FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest on April 15 1989 was ended six minutes after kick-off, at 3.06pm.
