A man has died while working at a Stevenage bakery.
The 60-year-old fork lift driver from St Neots, was pronounced dead at the scene after collapsing at the Allied Bakery in Wedgewood Way yesterday afternoon (Sunday).
Two ambulances and the Herts air ambulance were scrambled.
A spokesman for the ambulance service said: “We believe the man was taken ill whilst he was operating a fork lift truck at the rear of the bakery. Paramedics worked extremely hard alongside the air ambulance team, but after everyone’s best efforts he was pronounced dead at the scene. Our thoughts are with his family at this tragic time.”
