It’s transfer deadline day today and Comet Sport will keep you bang up to date on any comings and going at Stevenage Football Club.

Read what manager Darren Sarll had to say about possible moves in the transfer market so far.

“We want to maintain the current league position we are in and to do that you need players that are League One quality because those are normally the teams that get promoted.

“I absolutely want to bring some players in on deadline day.

“I’ve got my eye on two and depending on what happens, because we’ve got some sense at this football club, if we see a real bonus ball in the mix we have it in us to jump on that.

“The club is pretty good at this time of year, you look back at Jack King and Tyler Walker last year being real game changers for us and there is probably another game changer out there to support the squad.

“Let’s see what happens.”

The 34-year-old is not expecting any of his key player to depart on the final day of the window but he admitted that loan moves down a level could be a possible for some of the squad.

“Players leaving the club depends on what comes in,” he said.

“If a player was to leave, it would be to go on loan to club lower down but of the players in the dressing room that could go up a level, there is no news.”
