POLICE have revealed that a man at the centre of a murder inquiry was alive when he was found at his home yesterday (Wednesday).
Police were called to an address in Vardon Road in Stevenage at about 5.30pm to reports of a man with serious injuries at the property.
Paramedics were also called. Gary Sanderson, spokesman for the ambulance service, said: "Following treatment and stabilisation at the scene by paramedics, he was taken to Lister Hospital in Stevenage." He later died.
Police are treating his death as suspicious and a man has been arrested in connection with the incident. He is currently in police custody.
The dead man is Polish and police are trying to make contact with his family.
Police are appealing for witnesses, or anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area between 11am and 5pm yesterday, to call the non-emergency number on 0845 33 00 222.
