An all-age cycling event with plenty of twists and turns is kicking into gear tomorrow.

Hitchin Nomads Cycling Club is organising the all-day bike event for children and adults at Standalone Farm in Letchworth.

More than 200 competitors are expected for the cyclo-cross event which pits cyclists against each other over a testing off-road course which is expected to be fast and muddy with small obstacles.

Organiser Simon Young of Hitchin Nomads said: “Cyclo-cross is a fun type of bike racing.

“Hitchin Nomads are delighted to be working with the Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation to promote this event which fits the club’s ethos of all types of cycling for all types of people.”

There will be 15 race categories on the day, including one for novices, with the first at 10.15am and the last at 2pm.

The event takes place alongside the Greenway, you can enter on the day and races cover all ages from U10s to over 50s. Mountain bikes are welcome, too.

Anyone interested in entering a race can find more details online by visiting www.britishcycling.org.uk and typing ‘Central Cyclo Cross League’ into the search engine.
