A teenager from Stevenage who sexually assaulted a young girl has been sentenced to four years and eight months’ custody.
Zakary Gammon, 18, pleaded guilty to assaulting a girl under 13 by penetration and sexually assaulting a child when he appeared at St Albans Crown Court.
Passing sentence yesterday, Judge Jonathan Carroll initially sentenced him to five years and eight months in a young offenders institute, before revising this to four years and eight months.
Gammon, of Oakfields in Broadwater, was made subject to a 15-year sexual harm prevention order, and will be barred from working with children for life.
