POLICE will be outlining their latest plan to tackle criminals on Friday.

Herts police will be bringing a roadshow to Hitchin's Market Place on Friday to explain details of their annual policing plan to residents.

Spokesman for the project, Kevin McGetrick said: "In many respects the policing plan belongs to the community as it follows extensive consultation with partners and community representatives. The roadshow is a real opportunity to find out what is in the plan."

And it will also be an opportunity to tell officers what they should be focussing on in your area.

Chief inspector for North Herts, Geoff Camp, said: "The event will feature a neighbourhood surgery for the Hitchin Priory ward - an opportunity for residents, workers and shoppers to tell us what they would like police resources to focus on.

"Even if you're a visitor to the town, I encourage you to pay us a visit and tell us about what community safety issues are important to you."

The roadshow takes place from 10am to 2pm and representatives from Neighbourhood Watch and Crimestoppers will also be there.

If you cannot make this event and would like to meet your safer neighbourhoods team where you are, monthly meetings are held across the district. To find out more go to www.herts.police.co.uk
