One of Britain’s most cherished cricket broadcasters was on hand to officially open a Weston pub’s new restaurant.
Test Match Special bastions Henry Blofeld and Roger Baxter were telling tales of their many years of experience in the commentary box at the Cricketers as part of Baldock’s Fireside Festival of storytelling and entertainment, and Blowers obliged with a spot of ribbon-cutting duty.
“The Pavilion is wonderful, it works perfectly as both a restaurant and an event venue,” he said. “It’s great to see past cricketers featured on the walls as well as present ones.”
Features of the restaurant include an oven shaped like a cricket ball and a bar covered in bats brought in by customers in exchange for a pizza of their choice.
