A group of scouts have shot to success - winning six medals at a national shooting competition.

An air rifle team from the 5th Stevenage Scouts Shooting Club took podium positions at the National Scout Shooting Championship involving over 800 competitors over two days.

Jack Jefferys, 13, of Stevenage took individual gold medals in the junior six yard air pistol event and the summer biathlon, involving running and rifle shooting. Scott Edis, 13, and Charlie Dowell, 17, both of Stevenage and Annabelle Bullock, 14, of Knebworth won bronze in the ‘three position’ event - shooting standing, kneeling and lying down.

Annabelle also took individual bronze in the 10 metre sporter rifle category in her first season as a senior, while Charlie took silver in the full-bore rifle category, despite never having fired one before. Matthew Gill, 13, of Knebworth fought his way through eight rounds to win bronze in the knock out target event.
