POLICE officers from both forces in Comet country are likely to help in the hunt for the killer of five prostitutes in Ipswich.
Suffolk Constabulary has already asked for assistance in their murder hunt and both Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire have responded by saying they will send officers.
The numbers of officers that will join the murder hunt will not be known for at least 48 hours with both chief constables and other senior officers assessing the needs of the Suffolk Constabulary.
"We have offered our help and will send any related support staff as well," said a Herts police spokesman.
"We have offered a number of detectives and a decision on how many staff we send will be made very soon."
A spokesman for Bedfordshire police said: "Any support that is needed by our colleagues in Suffolk will be backed by us and we have offered to co-operate fully with any call for assistance.
