Central Beds Council last night (Thursday) agreed its first budget with a modest raise in council tax.
The new local authority put up council tax in Mid Beds by 2.55 per cent, while increasing South Beds by 2.45 per cent, substantially lower than the Eastern regional average of 3.8 per cent.
This means the occupants of a band D property in both areas will pay an extra �31.39 per year.
