North Hertfordshire District Council (NHDC) was set to fix its final tax levy last night (Wednesday), for 2006/07, including the county council and police authority requirements.
The average council tax bill for 2006/07 for a Band D council taxpayer will be £1,278.98 - an overall increase of 4.89 per cent.
The district council's part of the bill has increased by an average of 4.5 per cent, which amounts to an additional 14p per week, taking the average annual payment for a Band D council tax payer to £170.05 for the district council's portion of the bill.
Hertfordshire County Council's part of the bill has increased by 4.95 per cent to £984.95 and Hertfordshire Police Authority's slice of the tax amounts to £123.98, an increase of 4.99 per cent.
