A flag pole is to be erected on the roof of Biggleswade Town Council offices.

Councillors decided last week that it was more appropriate to have it on the top of the building than on land outside the front.

A flag containing the town's coat of arms will be flying for most of the time and will only be replaced by the Union Jack or the flag of St George on special occasions and festivals.

* COUNCILLORS have delivered a perfect response to a cricket club's request for match balls.

Biggleswade Town Council has agreed to support the local cricket club once again by sponsoring five match balls during the coming season at a cost of £50.

* BIGGLESWADE Town Council will be paid £3,246.21 by Bedfordshire County Council to undertake grass cutting in the town during the coming year.

The town council is currently responsible for 19 areas of grass in Biggleswade.
