This year's competition has been officially launched today (Thursday) and sponsors for the event include Stevenage Borough Council, Stevenage Community Trust and ARCH Plant Centre in Gosmore, near Hitchin.

The seven categories are Best Front Garden, Best Back Garden, Young Gardener at home (under 16), Community Project or Centre, Best Business, Best Allotment, and Best School Garden.

Steve and Caroline Howells, of ARCH Plant Centre, said: "Having supported Stevenage in Bloom for the past three years we felt it would have been a shame if the competition did not continue, as we feel it is both a benefit to the town and the community.
