A COMPANY was fined £32,000 after ignoring noise restrictions for financial gain.
Developers Crest Nicholson (Chiltern) Ltd was also made to pay costs of £700 after pleading guilty to 10 charges under the Control of Pollution Act at Stevenage Magistrates' Court.
A notice was served to the company's development on Aylwood Drive in Stevenage which imposed time restrictions on making noise but the company, based in Surrey, repeatedly breached the terms.
Stevenage Borough Council's head of environmental health and licensing, Richard Evans, said: "While in the first instance we always try to work with people to advise them on their legal duties, we will take them to court if they refuse to comply with the law."
