Poorly children visiting the Lister Hospital this bank holiday weekend will be given Easter eggs thanks to generous Stevenage businesses who supported a seasonal Comet advertising feature.

A total of 42 chocolate eggs for children who will be on the wards over the holiday break were presented to staff at the Coreys Mill Lane hospital on Monday.

Play specialist team member Stacey Slattery said: “We rely on the donations because we do not have the budget to go out and buy them ourselves. We are extremely grateful for the community’s support, not just at Easter and Christmas but we value it throughout the year.

“We are always accepting donations of new toys. This has been especially helpful with regards to the ongoing Magic of Play appeal.”

Stacey is also seeking raffle donations for a sold-out dinner dance. Money raised will go towards new furniture for the play appeal, contact her on 07852 926853.
