People living in Clifton have been asked to close their windows following a large house fire in the village.
Five fire engines were called to a large fire at a house in Shefford Road just after 12 noon to put out the blaze, and still remain at the scene.
Due to concerns over smoke, people living in nearby homes in Maple Close, Birch Close, Chapel Close and Spring Road have been told to keep their windows shut.
Parents of children attending nearby Samuel Whitbread Academy, also on Shefford Road, have been advised the fire may affect them picking up their children at the end of the school day.
