After 15 years of trading in the town, Clement Joscelyne is closing its branch on the corner of Hermitage Road and Bancroft after opening a new store in Cambridge.

The company, which sells high-end furnishings, will take over half its current staff at the shop to the new store.

Managing Director Raymond Joscelyne said: "We are very sad to be leaving Hitchin where we have had such a good relationship with so many customers. Our new shop is only 45 minutes away and we hope as many customers as possible will make the journey to see us in our new location where they are sure to see some familiar faces.
