A TOWN centre development could face further delays, with council officers recommending holding off for two years.
A North Herts District Council report, released ahead of a meeting next week, recommends that the authority “awaits the outcome of the local plan” before delivering its aspirations on Hitchin Churchgate.
The plan should be formally adopted by mid 2015.
It also recommends continuing an “open dialogue” with interested developers in the meantime.
