TOMORROW (Tuesday) marks the cut-off date for Churchgate contractor Simons.
The developer was refused a time extension by full council in January, which means that tomorrow it will cease to be North Herts District Council’s (NHDC) development partner for the Hitchin project.
Once that date passes, NHDC will be free to pursue other options.
That could include plans put forward by current Churchgate shopping centre leaseholder Hammersmatch, which has already released a series of drawings.
Cllr Lynda Needham, leader of NHDC, said: “There are no planned meetings with Simons and the resolution of council on January 31 will be implemented after the first cut off date.”
