CHRISTMAS arrived early for Sandy library on Saturday when they received £600 worth of books.

The books were donated by Sandy Vineyard Church and were all of a religious nature.

"The books will be distributed in our libraries in Sandy, Potton and Biggleswade," said a Sandy library spokesman.

Nicola Watson of the Sandy Vineyard Church said: "We hope adults and children will enjoy the new books. We are a new church with just a handful of Christians, but we are trying to find ways of bringing smiles to the faces of the people among whom we live.
