PEOPLE in Biggleswade and Baldock are licking their lips as two chip shops have been short-listed in the National Fish and Chip Shop of the Year competition.
Saxon Tra-ditional British Fish and Chips, of Kingsfield Road, Biggleswade, and Fish 'n' Chik'n', of High Street, Baldock, are through to the regional final of the contest.
They will now receive a visit from a mystery judge who will mark them on the quality of their fish and chips, customer service, hygiene and staff training.
The lucky winner will compete with 18 others across the UK to become one of 10 shops through to the grand final to be hosted by celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott in London next year.
