Chelsea fan on racist gesture offence faces police questions

A LETCHWORTH GC man arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated offence at a Chelsea game was questioned by police today (Thursday).

Photographs taken during a Capital One Cup fourth-round tie between Chelsea and Manchester United last month appeared to show a Blues fan making a monkey gesture near to black United striker Danny Welbeck.

A 28-year-old man, who was bailed on November 5, appeared at a west London police station for questioning and has since been bailed for a second time.

He will return to the police station on Friday, December 14.
