A chef has shown there’s naan better in the east of England after winning a major gong.
Oli Khan, owner of Surma Finest Indian Takeaway in Stevenage, proved he was hotter than a vindaloo when he was recognised as Best Caterer in the region at Sunday’s annual Bangladesh Caterers Association awards in London.
Mr Khan whose signature dish is a gola chijngri albela curry, said: “I’m delighted at winning this award, as I won out of 1,500 people. I am extremely honoured.
“My secret? I believe the secret is my dedication and long experience of what I do. Also, I believe, my strong commitment to my work and always trying to bring something different to my customers.”
