A new beer pumped out at pubs all over the county has been providing a booze boost for Hertfordshire’s children’s hospice.
More than 20,000 pints of the malty BraveHerts bitter produced by McMullen’s have been pulled, raising £2,000 for Keech Hospice Care.
Fergus McMullen of the family firm which runs the Hertford brewery is the brains behind the cask creation.
He said: “When I found out about the extraordinary care the charity gives to very sick children and their families, I had to help.
“It may not be a conventional way to raise money but brewing and beer is what I know.
“The beer has gone down a storm in all of our pubs. It’s great regulars have enjoyed a pint knowing they’ve also been supporting their local hospice.”
Fergus is pictured with Simon Maughan whose two-year-old granddaughter is supported by Keech. He said: “It’s a great idea.”
