Stevenage utility man Charlie Lee has signed a new contract to remain at the Lamex Stadium.
The 29-year-old former Peterborough United player has made 82 appearances for Boro in two terms with the club since being released by Gillingham at the end of 2013/14.
Speaking at Stevenage’s Bragbury End training ground, Lee said: “I wanted to sign on and stay, I was glad to get it done.
“I’m looking forward to next year already, I know the season has just finished, obviously it [last season] wasn’t a great season really, we were majorly disappointed, and I just want to next one to start.”
Lee, who had a stop start campaign with injuries, also echoed the comments from skipper Ronnie Henry in regards to the players being fully behind Darren Sarll; this week given the manager’s role full-time after a caretaker spell.
“I have never seen more of a reaction from players [for a manager] and I’ve been playing fro a long time now,” said Lee.
“The players bought straight into how the new manager wanted to do things and there’s a lot of support for him from players and fans.

“There’s been a big change and he’s had limited resources as well since he’s been manager, a lot of injuries, but he hasn’t moaned, he’s got on with it and the players have rallied for him and everyone can say they are excited for next year.”
Stevenage 18-year-old full-back Nathan Kerr has also put pen to paper to sign his first professional contract.
