GO-KARTING, a bouncy castle, a barbecue and even a visit from radio DJs were among the highlights when a football academy threw open its doors.
The day was organised by Michelle Still and Anita Grewal at the Stevenage Borough Football Academy, to raise cash for Hatfield-based The Willow Foundation.
A portion of the £893 raised will go to the renal unit at the Lister Hospital to thank staff for the care they have given Michelle's three-year-old daughter Georgia.
Michelle said: "We recently opened a new building worth £2.2m with amazing facilities, which we offered to the community.
"It was our aim to get the community in here to see what facilities we had on offer.
"We wanted somewhere to donate the money. We came across Willow. Bob Wilson being a football man, the two seemed to go together.
