The time for the St George's Day Parade and Service of district wide cubs, scouts etc. This Sunday has now been changed, the parade now leaves Knights Templar School, Baldock, at around 2pm for a march to Baldock Catholic Church with the service now starting at about 2.15pm (originally 3pm). Apparently, the changes have been made by order of the police! This is hardly a football stadium and special match with thousands of people to marshal, but I suppose they must have their reasons. The proceeds from the event will go to Headstart. As a matter of interest, if a vox pop survey was carried out on the streets of LGC, I wonder how many people could identify April 23 as being St George's Day, my guess is less than 20% but I could be wrong..!
