THERE will be a chance to try out some new extreme sports equipment at Fairlands Valley Park tomorrow (Sunday).

Equipment available includes mountain bikes (minimum age 13), mountain boards and buggies (minimum age 11), turf boards (minimum age 12), kites (minimum age 10) and a climbing wall (all ages, subject to harness fitting).

The 45-minute sessions will run on the hour from 10am until noon and from 1pm until 3pm.

Sessions can be booked on the day at the sailing centre, at a cost of 2 per activity.

The new equipment has been purchased following a successful funding bid by Sport Stevenage to the Awards for All scheme.

Cllr Howard Burrell, Stevenage Borough Council's Executive Member for Children and Young People, Culture, Sport and Leisure, said: "This is a wonderful opportunity for people to come along and try something different. Although some of the equipment has a minimum age, there is no maximum age, so it really is a chance for all the family to join in the fun."
