HEALTH resort Champneys has become a patron of the NSPCC Full Stop Campaign after donating over £100,000 to the charity.

The money was raised over a year from events including a charity bike ride and through guest donations.

Interior designer and the BBC's Changing Rooms star Linda Barker visited Champneys Henlow to accept a cheque for £105,218 on behalf of the NSPCC.

The charity plans to use the money for its Caring for Children in Court Appeal which aims to benefit children giving evidence in court, often a traumatic process for youngsters.

Help provided through the appeal includes support workers to aid young people prior to trials, and to encourage them to give evidence.

Champneys' chosen charities for this year are the Disability Foundation and baby charity Tommy's.
